Kioti Vs. Kubota: Are They the Same?

It’s a common question on the farm: Are Kioti and Kubota the same company? At a glance, the two tractor brands share similarities; both are known for their orange paint and reliable compact tractors. However, Kioti and Kubota are entirely separate manufacturers.

Kubota was founded in Japan in 1890 and has over a century of history in tractors and heavy equipment. Kioti, on the other hand, is the North American brand name for Daedong Corporation, a South Korean company established in 1947. While their products sometimes compete in similar categories, Kioti and Kubota are not affiliated.

Are Kioti and Kubota the same company? Future Ag explains

In fact, Kioti has been expanding its own tractor lineup in recent years, even introducing higher-horsepower models to further distinguish itself. Bottom line: if you buy a Kioti, you’re not buying a “Kubota by another name” – you’re getting a tractor engineered by Kioti’s own team, with its own design and features.

Kioti Vs. Kubota: We Choose Both

Despite their separate identities, both brands have earned strong reputations – and Future Ag is proud to represent both. For example, the Kioti CK Series compact tractors and the Kubota BX Series are each stars in the acreage and small farm market. Kioti CK tractors offer incredible value with more lift capacity and often more horsepower for the dollar, making them a cost-effective workhorse for chores.

Meanwhile, Kubota BX tractors are celebrated for their refined build quality and advanced features, like smooth hydrostatic transmissions and mid-mount PTO for mowing. We carry a full range of these models at Future Ag, so you can compare and choose what fits your needs. Check out our Kioti inventory to see specs and pricing on the latest models – you might be surprised how much power and equipment you get with Kioti. Or explore our Kubota lineup online to see why Kubota’s decades of innovation still set it apart.

So, is Kioti as good as Kubota? Each has its strengths. Kubota’s extensive dealer network and long track record mean proven reliability and high resale value. Kioti, for its part, often packs extra features or slightly larger dimensions into similar horsepower classes, giving farmers more bang for their buck. Many Alberta farmers find that Kioti’s affordable compact tractors handle tasks just as capably as Kubota’s, especially for loader work, mowing and snow removal.

The choice really comes down to your specific requirements and budget. Our ag equipment experts at Future Ag are happy to discuss both brands without bias – after all, we sell and service them both! We want you to have the perfect tractor for your operation, whether it’s a time-tested Kubota or a power-packed Kioti.

Whichever orange tractor you fancy, you’ll find full support for it at Future Ag – your local ag dealer in Alberta for Kubota, Kioti, Toro, Echo, and more.
